Born in 1980, lives in Berlin. Itay Marom is a filmmaker, cinematographer and visual artist. As a cinematographer, Marom shot many feature films, documentaries and shorts. Among his films are "The Cutoff Man" (Venice film festival 2012), “The Mountain” (Venice film festival 2015), “The Day After I’m Gone” (Berlinale 2019) and more. Itay also collaborated with prominent documentary directors such as Nurith Aviv, Ran Tal and more.
Since 2014 Itay is creating his own films. He has participated in Festivals, group and solo exhibitions. His video work “DOGS” was purchased for the collection of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and was screened in Kasseler Dokfilmfest.
His debut feature documentary - RESONANCE (2019) - Won the DEFA prize in DoK Leipzig Film Festival, a special jury mention in Docaviv Film Festival, participated Doc Fortnight Festival at the MoMA, NYC and more.
OBSERVATION DIARY his last feature documentary, won the cinematography award in Docaviv Film Festival 2023.
Marom is teaching Cinematography in Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem and in the MFA program for Documentary Filmmaking in Tel Aviv university.
